System requirements

1. server description

(1) Firewall or proxy server (optional): It is possible, but not necessary, to install a firewall or proxy server in front of the Mendix web server.

(2) Web server / application server / database server: This server hosts the Mendix application. All client communication takes place directly with this server. All communication should run via a web service / web proxy such as ISS on Windows or nginx on Linux. The Mendix application communicates with the database, which is installed on the same server.

(3) File server (optional): The Mendix application supports the use of a separate file server for the uploaded/generated files. The Mendix application server should be able to access this server.

2. hardware requirements

• x86-compatible CPU
• Number of processor cores: 6 (2 per environment + 2 per SQL server)
• RAM: 16 GB RAM without SQL server on the same server. With SQL server on the same server 24 GB RAM
• 10 GB free hard disk space and 50 GB per environment

3. operating systems

• Microsoft Windows Server from 2016

4. web server

• Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)

5th database

• Recommendation: PostgreSQL version 13 or higher
• Microsoft SQL Server version 2019 or higher

Compatibility with the above-mentioned databases is ensured for the versions that were available at the time of release.
